...where The Blog has gone lately, here's a quick rundown on what's been going on:
- Your faithful correspondent has been fighting yet another cold. It's had me feeling pretty run-down and miserable, but otherwise is more of an annoyance than anything. (If you detect a stuffy-nose sound in my typing, that's why.)
- The construction on the house has been rapidly reaching a crescendo - the main crew is just a few days away from finishing up with the bulk of the work, at which point they turn everything over to the subcontractors (tile guy, sheetrockers, painters, etc.). Which means there have been guys popping their heads in the door every twenty minutes or so, more days than not, setting the dog barking, which wakes the baby up, which gets daddy grumpy, and all of which makes for very chaotic days. Add that to the sound of tile-cutting saws and hammers on the roof, the usual banging and sawing and sanding coming from outside, the cutting and banging from the new office (where the window trim is being installed), and the phone ringing like mad, life around the house has been... well, migraine-inducing.
- Grandma Kay has started going to the gym, at the prompting of Jan (our housekeeper and sometime-babysitter and family friend), which means we've been hot-seating it with the one vehicle that's available to us during the day (the Manly-Man Truck), since their car is STILL (after five weeks or so) in transit via Canada Rail's car-transport service. Apparently it got held up at the border, waiting to go through Customs. I'm glad to see Mom getting some exercise, and it's making a very obvious difference in her energy level and general enthusiasm, but it does make juggling errands a much more interesting experience, with only the one car for three of us to get around in. I'm hoping their minivan gets here, sometime soon, preferably before they're ready to head back to Michigan...
- Da Boo is getting very, very busy. He's crawling all over the place, especially toward anything dangerous, dog-drooled, unhygenic, or otherwise off-limits - so you really can't turn your back on him. He's also gotten a handle on the whole standing-up thing, but unfortunately, he hasn't quite mastered the art of sitting DOWN again - so he'll suddenly start yelling out of sheer frustration, especially when he's somehow slipped down into the splits and can't figure out either how to get un-splitted or onto his butt. (This is especially fun when he does this in the crib, when he's supposed to be taking a nap.) He's also learning new consonants, so in addition to "dadada," he can now say "bababa," and "vavava," and even "lalala." No "mamama" yet, worse luck - I think he's holding off on that just so he can drive his momma crazy.
That's the short version of why I haven't been keeping up with this blog in the manner to which y'all have become accustomed. Sorry. You'll just have to wait in line behind all the construction guys, the baby, the grandparents, and, let's not forget, my lovely wife...
Speaking of whom... Felicia and I are leaving this afternoon for the Mt. Ashland Inn (the B&B where we got engaged, what seems like half a lifetime ago), for our very first weekend away from the baby. Wish us luck - at this point, I'll consider it a minor triumph if we get out of the house, AND don't come running back around 11pm tonight, all lonely for the baby. (And you might want to wish the grandparents luck, too, since they're the ones who are going to be trying to figure out how to handle this little Tasmanian Devil without his momma around to throw a boob at him when he gets cranky.)
Lots of new photos in the album, by the way. (Yes, folks, this IS a bribe to keep y'all quiet while I get my legs back under me... Shameless, am I not?)
Flea,
Joshua is growing so quickly. He is gorgeous just wish we saw each other alittle more often. The kids are doing great and growing up so quickly. The house looks beautiful and the deck is to die for- cant wait to see you in July. Love ya!!

Joshua sure is a cutie. Enjoy keeping up with you on the blog. Travis is doing all the same things here, getting into everything, babbling a lot. Wondering if Aunt Kay is really there? Does she ever get out from behind the camera to be photographed with her grandson?

Earn up to $3500/month just by taking simple surveys online!
I tried one of those online survey sites about 4 months ago that
say all you have to do is spend a couple of minutes filling out
some surveys and you will be making hundreds a day..... YEAH RIGHT, I didn't make anything.
I joined 7 of these stupid websites and I actually tried filling
out a couple of surveys on each site and they took forever then at
the end they wanted me to buy things or I couldn't complete the
survey.
These are complete scams so be aware!!! I couldn't believe they
were even allowed to sell such bogus products.
Then about 2 weeks ago I was watching the news and they had some
vice presidents and marketing managers of some major multi million
dollar companies talking about a site that they personally work
with to pay consumers for their opinion, A site that actually just
wants the "average Joe's" honest opinion on products and services
and is willing to pay big money to get them. for more information

If you want to make $10-$150/hour and up to $3500/month of your free time working at
home part-time then this is the most important message you’re ever
going to read.
Here’s why:
“Businesses need ME! They’re paying me money – CASH – to a
36-year-old work-at-home mother to get my opinion.”
http://www.cash-reward-surveys.info/surveys.html
Guess what?
They also need YOU!
I’m not a marketing expert or a sales gal. In fact, I know very
little about business. But I do know exactly what I like and what
I don’t like. I know what products I would buy and what services
I would use.
Guess what? This is exactly what large companies are paying me
for. They need to know what their average customer needs and
wants. So these companies pay millions of dollars every month to
the average person. In return, the average person, myself
included, answers some questions and gives them their opinion.
You’ve got to try this out. Just click on the link below and
check it out yourself.
